Yes, you can fly with a vape pen, as long as it travels in your carry-on bag or on your person.

What you can't do is use it. Vaping is banned on commercial flights, and the FAA calls it dangerous and a federal offense on US flights.

You also can't charge your vape on board. Some airports have smoking areas where vaping is allowed, but rules vary, so ask staff or follow the signs.

What You Can Bring Along

The TSA allows vapes in carry-on bags, with lithium ion batteries of 100 Wh or less. Spare batteries must also go in your carry-on, with the terminals covered.

Nicotine e-liquid is allowed in the cabin. Bottles must be 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less and go in your quart-sized liquids bag.

Never pack cannabis or THC products.

Allowed In Checked Luggage?

No. Vapes and spare lithium batteries are banned from checked luggage on every airline, because they are a fire risk in the cargo hold.

The FAA says these rules are the same on domestic and international flights. If your carry-on is checked at the gate, take your vape and spare batteries out and keep them with you.

Are Vape Pens Illegal in Comoros?

We could not find a law in Comoros that bans or specifically regulates e-cigarettes.

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids' legal database has no e-cigarette rules on file for Comoros. Johns Hopkins' Global Tobacco Control scan also does not list it among countries that regulate e-cigarette sales.

No law on file does not mean anything goes. Laws change, so check with the Comoros embassy or your airline before you travel.

Public Use Regulations

Comoros has its own tobacco control rules, and local authorities or businesses may not allow vaping in some places.

Be discreet, avoid vaping indoors or in crowds, and ask before you vape in hotels, restaurants or taxis.

Age Restrictions

We could not confirm a vape-specific minimum age in Comoros.

Vapes are for adults only. In the US, federal law bans selling e-cigarettes to anyone under 21.

- Keep Your Device Securely Stored: Keep your vape in a case, switched off or locked, so the button can't be pressed in your bag. Store spare batteries in a battery case.

- Know That You Can't Vape Onboard: There are no vaping areas on commercial flights. Wait until you are off the plane and in a place where vaping is allowed.
