Can you bring a vape pen on a flight to Mozambique? Here are the airline rules, what we know about local law, and how to pack your vape safely.

Can You Fly With a Vape Pen To Mozambique?
Vape Pen Regulations
Yes, you can fly to Mozambique with a vape pen, as long as it travels in your carry-on bag or on your person.
We could not find a Mozambican law that bans bringing a vape. The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids' legal database has no e-cigarette rules on file for Mozambique.
Airline Policies
Airlines allow a vape pen in your carry-on bag or on your person, never in checked luggage. The FAA says vapes must stay in the cabin and must never be used or charged on the aircraft.
For flights from the US, the TSA allows vapes in carry-on bags only. Each lithium ion battery must be rated at 100 watt-hours or less, and you must keep the device from switching on by accident.
Spare batteries also belong in your carry-on. Bottles of e-liquid count as liquids at security, so keep them at 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less and pack them in your liquids bag.
Travel Considerations
Laws change, so check with the Mozambican embassy or your airline before you travel, and check the rules of any country where you change planes.

Are Vape Pens Illegal in Mozambique?
Vapes and the Mozambique Legal System
We could not confirm whether Mozambique regulates vapes or sets a minimum sale age, so we have removed claims we could not verify.
Follow posted no-smoking signs, avoid vaping indoors or in crowds, and ask before you vape in hotels, restaurants or taxis.
Health Concerns Regarding Vape Pens
Nicotine is addictive, and the long-term effects of vaping are still being studied. If you don't smoke, don't start.
Vapes are for adults only. In the US, federal law has banned selling e-cigarettes to anyone under 21 since December 2019.

Tips for Bringing a Vape Pen on a Plane
With a bit of preparation, flying with a vape pen is simple. Here are some tips:
Check Airport Regulations: Check the TSA rules and your airline's policy before you fly. Airlines can limit how many devices you carry, and countries where you change planes can have their own vape laws.
Pack Your Vape Pen Correctly: Keep your vape in your carry-on, switched off or locked so the button can't be pressed. Store spare batteries in a case so the terminals can't touch metal.
Don't Vape On Board: There is no vaping on commercial flights, and you can't charge a vape on board either.
