Can You Fly With A Vape Pen To Oman? The Rules & Regulations Explained

Contents
Can you fly with a vape pen to Oman? No. Oman bans e-cigarettes, so here is what that means for your trip.

Can You Fly With a Vape Pen To Oman?
Oman Air Regulations
Airlines flying to Oman follow the same international dangerous goods rules as other carriers. Vapes may only travel in the cabin, never in checked bags, and can't be used or charged on board.
That airline rule doesn't make a vape legal to bring into Oman. Oman's own laws decide that, and they ban e-cigarettes.
Ministerial Decree No. 327/2015 bans importing e-cigarettes and e-shisha, and Decree No. 698/2015 bans trading in them, according to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids legal database.
TSA Guidelines
If your trip starts in the US, the TSA allows vapes in carry-on bags only. Each lithium ion battery must be 100 Wh or less, and you must take steps to stop the device firing by accident.
Passing US security does not mean you can take the vape into Oman.
General Tips
The safest choice is to leave your vape and e-liquid at home when you travel to Oman.
If your trip only connects through Muscat, ask your airline and Oman's embassy before you fly with a vape. We couldn't confirm how transit passengers are treated.

Are Vape Pens Illegal in Oman?
Vape Pen Laws in Oman
Yes. Oman bans the import and trade of e-cigarettes and e-shisha.
The UK government's travel advice goes further: it says it is illegal to import or use e-cigarettes or vape products in Oman.
Penalties for Breaking Vape Pen Laws
We couldn't find an official source that lists the penalties for bringing or using a vape in Oman, so we won't guess at fines or jail terms.
Expect customs to treat a vape in your luggage as a prohibited item. Ask Oman's embassy for current penalties before you travel.
Buying a Vape Pen Legally in Oman
You can't. Because trading in e-cigarettes is banned, there is no legal way to buy a vape or e-liquid in Oman.
Don't order vapes online for delivery there either.

Tips for Bringing a Vape Pen on a Plane
Research Airline Regulations
For trips to countries that allow vapes, the airline rules are simple: carry-on only, never checked luggage, and no vaping or charging on board.
Some airlines limit how many vaping devices you can carry, so check your airline's website before you fly.
Prepare Your Device For Traveling
Switch the device off or lock it so it can't fire in your bag. The TSA requires steps to prevent accidental activation.
Keep spare batteries in a battery case or their retail packaging so the terminals can't touch keys, coins or each other.
Pack e-liquid in a sealed plastic bag in case bottles leak as cabin pressure changes.
Be Mindful Of Airport Security Guidelines
At US airports, e-liquid bottles in your carry-on must be 3.4 ounces (100 ml) or less and fit in your quart-sized liquids bag.
Check the liquids rule at every airport on your route, including the one you fly home from.
If your carry-on is checked at the gate, take your vape and spare batteries out first.
