Taiwan's Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act treats e-cigarettes as "imitation tobacco products." According to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids' legal database, the law bans their use, manufacture, import, sale, supply, display and advertising.
The ban also covers e-cigarette components, so pods, cartridges and e-liquid are included.
Can You Bring a Vape Pen Into Taiwan?
No. Because import and use are banned, you should not pack a vape pen for a trip to Taiwan. Customs can seize it, and you could be fined.
On flights to other places, vapes go in your carry-on only, never in checked bags. Vapes must never be used or charged on the plane. They are a fire risk, which is also why they are banned from checked bags.

- Carry-on only: Keep your vape and spare batteries in your carry-on or on your person. If your bag is checked at the gate, take them out first.
- Prevent accidental activation: Switch the device off or lock it, and use a case. Cover spare battery terminals or use a battery case.
- No vaping or charging on board: Wait until you are off the plane and in a place where vaping is allowed.
- Check connections: If you change planes in another country, check its rules too.
