Can You Fly With a Vape Pen To Bermuda?
Vaping Regulations in Bermuda
Bermuda regulates e-cigarettes under its tobacco control law. According to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids legal database, e-cigarette sales are allowed with restrictions, and vaping is banned wherever smoking is banned.
In June 2025 the Ministry of Health said nicotine products are medicinal products that may be sold only by registered pharmacists in registered pharmacies, under the Pharmacy and Poisons Act 1979. It also announced plans to ban the sale of nicotine products to anyone under 18.
Bringing Vape Pens Into Bermuda
We found no official rule that stops visitors from bringing a vape for personal use. Bring only what you need, in its original packaging, and declare anything you're unsure about.
If you want certainty, contact Bermuda Customs before you travel. Never fly with cannabis or THC vape cartridges. Drug laws abroad can be far stricter than at home.
Using Vape Pens On The Island
Treat your vape like a cigarette. Vaping is banned in indoor public places, indoor workplaces and on public transport, and on the grounds of some health, school, childcare and transit facilities.
Follow posted signs, and ask before vaping at a hotel, bar or restaurant.

Are Vape Pens Illegal in Bermuda?
Legality of Vape Pens in Bermuda
Vape pens are legal to own and use in Bermuda, subject to the smoke-free rules above. Shops face limits on where they can sell, and vending machine sales are banned.
If you need nicotine supplies on the island, buy them from a registered pharmacy.
Consequences for Breaking Vaping Regulations
We could not find official figures for fines for vaping in a no-smoking area, so we don't list any.
Drug offenses are a different matter. The UK government's Bermuda travel advice warns that penalties for possessing or importing drugs include prison sentences of up to 25 years.

Tips for Bringing a Vape Pen on a Plane
Here are the key rules for flying with a vape.
Keep It In Your Carry-On
The TSA allows vapes in carry-on bags only, never in checked luggage. Each lithium-ion battery must be 100 watt-hours or less, and you must protect the device from turning on by accident.
Pack Batteries And Liquids Safely
Keep spare batteries in a case so the terminals can't touch metal or each other. Carry e-liquid in bottles of 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less, inside your liquids bag.
Don't Vape Or Charge On Board
The FAA says vapes must never be used or charged on the aircraft. Airlines may also limit how many devices you carry, so check your airline's rules.
Check Your Connections
Check the rules of any country where you change planes, too. A country that bans vapes may still seize one during a layover.
