Can You Fly With a Vape Pen To Guadeloupe?

Yes, you can fly to Guadeloupe with a vape pen, as long as it travels in your carry-on bag or on your person.

Guadeloupe is an overseas region of France, and vape pens are legal there for adults.

What you can't do is use it. Vaping is banned on commercial flights, and the FAA calls it dangerous and a federal offense on US flights.

You also can't charge your vape on board. Some airports have smoking areas where vaping is allowed, but rules vary, so follow the signs.

What You Can Bring Along

The TSA allows vapes in carry-on bags only, with lithium ion batteries of 100 Wh or less. Spare batteries must also go in your carry-on, with the terminals covered.

Nicotine e-liquid is allowed in the cabin. Bottles must be 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less and go in your quart-sized liquids bag.

Never pack cannabis, THC or CBD products. Many countries treat them as illegal drugs.

No. Vapes and spare lithium batteries are banned from checked luggage, because they are a fire risk in the cargo hold.

If your carry-on is checked at the gate, take your vape and spare batteries out and keep them with you.

Vapes can't be sold to minors (under 18). Since February 26, 2025, France has also banned selling or giving away disposable vapes, so bring a refillable device.

Other places, such as bars and restaurants, can set their own rules, so ask before you vape indoors.

With a bit of preparation, flying with a vape pen is simple. Here are some tips:

• Carry-on only: pack the vape and any spare batteries in your carry-on. If your bag is gate-checked, take them out first.
• Prevent activation: switch the device off or lock it, and keep spare batteries in a case away from keys and coins.
• Liquids: keep e-liquid bottles at 3.4 ounces (100 ml) or less, in your liquids bag. Pressure changes can make tanks leak, so carry them empty or in a sealed bag.
• No vaping on board: don't use or charge your vape on the plane.
• Check every stop: airlines can limit how many devices you carry, and the rules of any country where you change planes also apply.
