Fly With A Vape Pen To Chad: What You Need To Know Before You Take Off

Contents
Can you fly with a vape pen to Chad? Probably yes. Chad had no e-cigarette law when it was last reviewed, but check before you go.

Can You Fly With a Vape Pen To Chad?
Overview
Airlines follow international dangerous goods rules for vapes. They may only travel in the cabin, never in checked bags, and you can't use or charge them on board.
If your trip starts in the US, the TSA allows vapes in carry-on bags only. Each lithium ion battery must be 100 Wh or less, and you must take steps to stop the device firing by accident.
Chad’s Vaping Restrictions
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids legal database found no law in Chad addressing e-cigarettes when it last reviewed the country in September 2021. Sales, use and advertising were not restricted by law.
That review is several years old, and we couldn't find a newer official source. Ask Chad's embassy about current rules before you travel.

Are Vape Pens Illegal in Chad?
Tobacco Laws
The 2021 review found no law on vaping in indoor public places, workplaces or public transport in Chad.
Be courteous anyway: don't vape where smoking is banned, and follow signs and staff instructions.
During Ramadan, the UK government's travel advice says not to eat, drink or smoke in public in the daytime. Treat vaping the same way.
Drugs Regulations
Never travel with THC or cannabis cartridges. Drug laws apply to visitors, and we couldn't confirm Chad's penalties, so leave them at home.

Tips for Bringing a Vape Pen on a Plane
Consider the Regulations:
Vapes and spare batteries may only travel in your carry-on bag or on your person, never in checked luggage. You can't vape or charge them on board.
Check your airline's own rules before you fly, too.
Prepare Your Device:
Switch the device off or lock it so it can't fire in your bag. The TSA requires steps to prevent accidental activation.
Keep spare batteries in a battery case or their retail packaging so the terminals can't touch keys, coins or each other.
Packing Tips:
At US airports, e-liquid bottles in your carry-on must be 3.4 ounces (100 ml) or less and fit in your quart-sized liquids bag. Check the liquids rule at every airport on your route.
If your carry-on is checked at the gate, take your vape and spare batteries out first.
